Manitoulin Island Wedding

Cassie and Nassim’s fairytale Manitoulin Island wedding.

And this was the day my heart fell a little more in love with Manitoulin Island weddings.

Found nestled between the waters of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, Manitoulin Island is the largest lake island in the world. Not only do her edges kiss the waters of two large bodies of fresh water, she also has over 100 interior lakes. She is home to 6 reserves and is the traditional territory of Anishinabek and Odawa peoples, recognized by Manitoulin Island Treaties 45 and 94.

About 44 kms from the Swing Bridge in Little Current, you will find the heritage village of Kagawong. One of the village’s biggest attractions is Bridal Veil Falls. If you have had the privilege to witness the rushing waters (if not, a must see) then you know why this couple chose to have their wedding take place under the cedars of the forest that surrounds the falls.

Cassie and Nassim’s Manitoulin Island wedding was full of emotion. Lots of tears and smiles but mostly laughter. Their families and friends traveled from all over to join in celebrating their love.
Their days started off very similar with fall views over two different interior lakes, with their closest friends by their side they made their way to the forest to exchange vows lead by the wonderful and spirited Lynn Kutschke. As the sun set they shared laughs and tears during their loved ones speeches and then danced the night away in the local community hall. As I drove away admiring the almost full moon and avoiding the deer just outside the packing lot, my heart was full.

WEDDING TIP: Consider hiring a wedding coordinator! This couple hired a Life’s a Peach Events for their wedding and it showed. Not only was their décor to die over but their day was organized and went off without a hitch, or if there were any, you couldn’t tell. The professionalism and friendliness of the dynamic duo, Lindsay and Thuyen was worth noting. I’ve photographed several weddings with different coordinators and these two were top tier. I mean who doesn’t want to have a stress free wedding day knowing that you have a great team behind you making you wedding day dreams come true?

From the couple…

If you’re looking for a photographer who gives you space to be yourself, Allison is the one for you. We were looking for a photographer that would make our vision come to life, and she delivered!

The photos are gorgeous, but most of all she captured pictures that told the story of our wedding day. She truly went above and beyond in many ways and exceeded our expectations.

She also carries an aura of calm and peacefulness which we definitely needed on our wedding day.

I would recommend any couples who are looking to work with a detailed, professional, caring, and unique photographer to chat with Allison!

Huge thank you to my second photographer, Photos by Tee Elle, that showed up with last minute notice.
